And now for a requisite mention of Star Wars (no spoilers)

A long time ago, not far away at all, I was a big fan. But after the prequels I pretty much became an apostate, so it was with great trepidation I watched opening day for Ep 7 approach. I didn’t buy tickets in advance; didn’t even know if I’d go to see it on the big screen or wait for it to go to DVD/cable. In the end, the fear of spoilers drove me to venture to a theater on opening day.

I was expecting long lines and high-spirited crowds (heck, I was expecting it to look like ComicCon). Instead, I walked right up and bought a ticket, then settled into a theater that was only about 1/3 full. Movie started, and the audience response was…nothing. Heard the guy behind me chuckle twice, but other than that, no reaction.  And when the credits ran: total silence. People just stood, picked up their stuff, and walked out.

Is this a sign of the apocalypse?

Just keep swimming…

Still working out technical details, but determined to post *something* at least weekly, so: here’s this week’s post.

Ok, leaving it at just that would be like an empty money-holder in a holiday card. Erm…

When in doubt, quote!

“Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.” – A.A. Milne, Winne the Pooh

(If slow & steady’s good enough for the silly ol’ bear, it’s good enough for me.)
